Ways To Give

One of the most helpful ways to support the mission of BattleCreek Church is by setting up a recurring gift. When you give consistently, it allows our church to plan wisely, steward resources effectively, and stay ready to meet needs both locally and globally.

Recurring giving is simple to set up and easy to manage. You'll receive an email confirmation for every gift, which not only helps you keep track but also serves as a regular reminder of your commitment to worship, faith, and generosity.

What We Believe

We believe the tithe is a biblical and foundational part of spiritual growth. Tithing means giving the first ten percent of our income to God through the local church. It’s one of the ways we learn to put God first, trust Him with our finances, and grow in faith.

In Scripture, God instructed His people to give back the first portion of their crops or income as a way to honor Him and remember that everything ultimately comes from Him. Leviticus 27:30 says the tithe is “holy to the Lord,” meaning it is set apart for God. Proverbs 3:9 encourages us to “honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”

Tithing is not about obligation, it’s about trust. In Malachi 3:10, God says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse… Test me in this… and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing there will not be room enough to store it.” That storehouse refers to the place where God’s people are spiritually nourished, which today is the local church.

Through tithing, we practice regular dependence on God, partner with Him in ministry, and align our hearts with His priorities. It is a consistent spiritual habit that helps shape us, support others, and make room for God to move through our lives.

Rhythms of Giving

While the tithe is our consistent rhythm of generosity, we also believe there are special moments when God invites us to go above and beyond with our finances. These moments are opportunities to stretch our faith and respond to the unique needs God places in front of us. At BattleCreek Church, we set aside two intentional times each year to give in a way that makes a significant impact both inside and outside our church family.

Summer Offering

Each summer, our Summer Offering helps fund camps designed specifically for kids and students. We believe the next generation matters deeply to God, and we want them to have every opportunity to know Him personally. Your generosity helps create those moments. It may look like a student choosing to follow Jesus at camp or a child hearing about God’s love in a way that makes sense to them. Every offering opens the door for life change and helps shape a foundation of faith that can last a lifetime.

Christmas Offering

At the end of the year, we come together for our Christmas Offering. For over 22 years, this offering has been a defining part of how our church steps into a new season with vision and faith. It’s a time to reflect on the gift of Jesus and respond by giving toward what He is calling us to in the future. These offerings have fueled Outreach initiatives, supported ministry growth, and allowed us to meet needs in our community and beyond. As Paul encouraged the early church, we want to “excel in the grace of giving” (2 Corinthians 8:7), trusting that God will use our generosity to change lives.

Tithe

At BattleCreek Church, we believe generosity is a vital part of following Jesus. Giving is more than a financial decision; it is a spiritual act that reveals where our trust lies and what we value most. Jesus taught, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). When we give, we express our love for God, prioritize His mission, and align our hearts with His purposes.

We also believe that everything we have ultimately belongs to God. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” Because God is the true owner of our resources, we live as stewards, not owners. Giving is not about losing something. It is about investing in something that will last forever. It becomes a way to participate in the work of God in our church, our community, and around the world.

Our mission at BattleCreek is to glorify God by helping all people of all ages at all times advance in their journey with Christ. Generosity helps make that mission possible. Every tithe and every offering helps people hear the Gospel, grow in their faith, and experience the transforming power of Jesus.
